"THONDIKULAM" as the name suggest in Tamil, "Thondargal vazhum idam" or the place where "devotees reside"

--- GENERAL INFO ---
Ours is small village comprising of 60 odd houses.
Here is a small brief on us:
1. Community
As such our village came into existence with a few Tamil Brahmins settling down here. In course of time few Telugu brahmins also came and settled down in Muthikulam. We are "Palakkad brahmins" by nature. As the name suggests, even though we (mostly) are originally from parts of Tamil Nadu, since our existence has long been established here our is a mix of Tamil as well as Malayalam culture.
we take pride in calling our selves "AllThondies"
2. Temples
1. Ayyappa Temple (TS: Tank Street)
2. Venkatachalapathy Temple
3. Ganapathy Temple (in Muthikulam)
4. Ayyappa Temple (in Muthikulam)
3. Manatapa
1. Venkatachalapathy Hall - mainly used only for temple activities and small functions such as 'Upanayanam' etc.
4. one small pond infront of the Ayyappa Temple (TS)- this pond is used by the villagers as well as all those residing in the neighbourhood places to our village.
5. Festivals
As a community we celebrate most of the Malayalam festivals (like Onam,Vishu etc), Tamil Festivals (like Pongal etc) and all india festivals (like Deepavali etc)
But 2 of the most POPULAR festivals we have for which people associated with the village as a villagers, relatives or otherwise all come together and enJOY ourselves are, the "RATHOLSAVAM" and "SASTHA PREETHI".
RATHOLSAVAM is as famous as is known in most parts of south india. This festival held for Lord Venkatachalapathy, which will be held during April/May time of a year. This is a 10 days festivals.
SASTHA PREETHI,which is typical of any Ayyappa Temple in Tamil Brahmins villages, is celebrated at both Ayyappa Temples (may/may not be on the same dates). There will be mandalakalam time frame of 41 days which will culminate or end with the 2 days of "THULASIAMMAN POOJA" and "SASTHA PREETHI"
--- LOCATION ---
Located in the centre of the Palakkad Township.
Reachability:
1. ROAD : KSRTC buses will reach us with 2 km of the village. The Auto-Rickshaws will take you to uw with a minimum charge
2. AIR : Coimbatore Airport is about 44 kms from us and can commute to palakkad by bus in an hour.
3. WATER : Cochin Shipyard is the nearest to commute to reach us, from which people can reach us by KSRTC buses in about 3-4 hours.
