Cherumthadam, Elanji
Cherumthadam is a small piece of land situated in the south end of Elanji Panchayat of Muvattupuzha Taluk in Ernakulam District. Njeezhoor, Marangoly, Monippally,Vadakkenirappu and Vakkad are the neighboring areas. This is the end/beginning of three Panchayats (Elanji, Uzhavoor & Njeezhoor), three Taluks ( Muvattupuzha, Meenachil(Pala) & Vaikom) and three Constituencies (Muvattupuzha, Pala & Kaduthuruthy).
This place is mainly known by the KSRTC bus root Kottayam - Cherumthadam, starts from Cherumthadam Junction.
We have a club here, named CFC (Cherumtahdam Friends' Club), actively involved in social works and various other youth activities. Also, we have a tea shop run by Appu chettan and a provision store run by Santhosh Puthiyaparambil.
There is a long bridge named 'Cherumthadam Palam' passes over the MVIP Canal and the 'Valiya Thodu', very near to the junction. We can see much people near this bridge in the evening.
A group of hardworking people from various religious groups mainly Christianity and Hinduism, lives here. Most of the people are in agriculture, mainly Rubber, Paddy, Coconut and various seasonal crops.
